“Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now.” THE Terminator actor wrote. “My Republicans have forgotten the beauty of the free market, run up deficits and rejected the election results. Democrats are no better at managing deficits, and I fear their local policies will harm our cities by increasing crime.”

“But a candidate who will not respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his supporters to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke,” Schwarzenegger wrote, “a candidate who has shown no ability to work on passing any policy other than a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else, a candidate who thinks Americans who don’t who disagree with him are bigger enemies than China, Russia or North Korea – this will not solve our problems.

“It will just be four more years of fruitless bullshit that will make us angrier, more divided and more hateful,” he added.

He closed his message of support by calling on all voters to vote, regardless of their preferred candidate: “Vote this week. Turn the page and leave this crap behind. And even if you don’t agree with me, vote, because that’s what we do as Americans. »

Schwarzenegger revealed he would not vote red for the first time in 2016, when Trump was facing Hillary Clinton for the presidency.

“For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican nominee for president,” Schwarzenegger said at the time. “As proud as I am to call myself a Republican, there is one label I wear above all else: that of an American.”

He also condemned the deadly January 6, 2021, riots at the Capitol, urging Americans to support then-President-elect Joe Biden, who rightfully won the 2020 election despite false claims by Trump and other government figures. right on electoral fraud.

“President-elect Biden, we wish you every success as president,” Schwarzenegger said shortly after the violent attack. “To those who think they can overthrow the Constitution of the United States, know this: You will never win.”
