Parking in Canada can quickly charge nearly 2,000 vehicles at a time

BURNABY, BC, October 30, 2024 /PRNewswire/ – Less than a year after delivery Central London the largest electric vehicle parking lot in Marylebone Square, Concord Pacific and its President and CEO, Terry Huihave opened the world’s largest electric vehicle charging park, capable of quickly charging nearly 2,000 vehicles at a time.

Concord Pacific Developments unveiled the parking lot for its four-tower Hillside project in Burnaby Concord Brentwood Community Monday. Demonstrating its commitment to providing residential electric vehicle parking that consistently exceeds city requirements, each of the underground parking lot’s 1,974 underground parking spaces has 24/7 access to electric vehicle charging , powered by an electrical infrastructure system so robust that it has the capacity to provide all access points with power at the same time, if necessary.

At a UN Global Citizen honorees dinner in 2015, Terry Hui committed to creating green infrastructure and developing enough green energy to Concord future communities.

“This step is consistent with our long-standing commitment to sustainable future communities,” Hui said. “We have a portfolio of wind, solar and hydroelectric projects that has grown significantly over the past 15 years and has now expanded to five Canadian provinces. Creating infrastructure like this helps close the loop on sustainable transportation options.

“This new parking lot for electric vehicles corresponds to what we are aiming for in Burnaby,” said Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley. “Achieving carbon neutrality is a community effort that includes local residents and businesses. Burnabyand it’s great to see Concord moving forward with this development. Making it easier for people to drive electric vehicles, cycle or take public transport will help us reduce carbon emissions and achieve our climate goals faster. »

The car park’s 1,974 parking spaces are divided into two distinct areas, each with two entry and exit points for efficient vehicle access and egress to and from the car park. Each outlet at Hillside West and East is individually monitored and each residence is only billed for the charging power it consumes.

The Hillside development is also less than half a kilometer from the Brentwood SkyTrain station and future phases of the community will complete a bicycle network that will connect Burnaby And Vancouver. Ninety percent of all Concord Pacific properties, including Concord Brentwood, are within walking distance of rapid transit service.
