PM Modi inaugurates Lyfius Pharma’s flagship penicillin-G facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh – Healthcare News

Lyfius Pharma announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Pen-G manufacturing facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. With an annual production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes (MT), the facility was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The event was marked by the presence of Jagat Prakash Nadda (Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Health and Family Welfare), Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya (Minister of Labor and Employment, Youth Affairs and Sporty), Anupriya Patel (Union MoS Chemicals & Fertilizers, Health & Family Welfare), Shri. Prataprao Jadhav (Union MoS (IC) Ayush, MoS Health & Family Welfare) and Sushri Shobha Karandlaje (Union MoS Labor & Employment, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises).

According to the company statement, this facility represents a strategic investment of ₹2,500 crore, under the government of Indiaof the PLI program and illustrates how private sector participation can significantly contribute to national growth, drive innovation and improve healthcare security.

The PLI program for the pharmaceutical sector aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities of critical KSM, DI and APIs, he said.

“The launch of our Pen-G factory is an important step in our efforts to improve local production and reduce dependence on imports for essential pharmaceutical ingredients. This investment underlines our commitment to supporting the government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, making India a global pharmaceutical manufacturing hub,” said MV Rama Krishna, Director, Lyfius Pharma.
