Submit a video to be part of the hockey transfer for the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships

THE Twin Cities to host International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Hockey Championships in about 14 months, but right now, fans can join in on a special video to celebrate the event coming to the state of hockey from Ottawa.

Short fan-submitted videos, along with those of prominent Minnesotans and hockey legends, will be combined into a video montage titled “The Great Minnesota Puck Pass.”

Fans can submit their 5-10 second videos until December 16.Videos must follow one of three prompts: pass an imaginary puck, follow an imaginary puck as it passes through the screen, or participate in a favorite hockey pastime.

“The Great Minnesota Puck Pass” video will be broadcast for the first time at the conclusion of the 2025 championship in January in Ottawa as part of the event’s transmission ceremony from Canada to Minnesota.

The video will also be shared online and on social media.

The IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships is an international under-20 tournament that attracts the best young players to compete in the flagship event. This is the second time Minnesota has hosted it. Games will be played at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul and Mariucci on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis from December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026.
