20-year-old arrested after road rage incident

Two people are facing charges after what police are calling a road rage incident on Highway 401 near Prescott.

Members of the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the eastbound lanes at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25.

A driver reported that the occupant of another vehicle pointed a handgun at them.

Officers quickly located the vehicle as it continued north on Highway 416, where a high-risk traffic stop was conducted.

A handgun was located inside the vehicle, which was later determined to be an air pistol.

As a result of the investigation, Kabir Mander, 18, of Brampton, and Prathamdeep Joshi, 20, of Caledon, each face a charge of possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Both accused were subsequently released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Brockville court on November 22, 2024.
