The Cleveland Clinic announced last week that it in partnership with Amazon One Medical to provide primary and specialty care northeast of Ohio. A medicala hybrid primary care provider offering virtual and in-person services, will open its first office in the Cleveland area in affiliation with Cleveland Clinic.

The new facility will offer same-day and next-day appointments, on-site laboratory services and comprehensive virtual care to support patients. Together, the organizations aim to provide more accessible and better coordinated health care to the community.

One Medical offers its members same-day appointments and 24/7 virtual care for an annual rate of $199, with a discounted rate of $99 for Amazon Prime members. The company collaborates with approximately 20 health systems across the country, providing referrals for specialty care through these partnerships.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to meeting the needs of our patients and elevating the care we provide to our communities,” said Tom Mihaljevic, MD, CEO and president of the Cleveland Clinic. “Amazon One Medical will complement our current primary care offerings, expanding access to essential healthcare services.”

The first location is expected to open in 2025, with additional locations to be determined by the two organizations. Over the coming years, Cleveland Clinic and Amazon One Medical will work together to determine where new offices are needed to meet patient demand in Northeast Ohio.

A day after announcing the partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, One Medical presented new AI tools aimed at reducing the administrative burden on its suppliers. These tools leverage AWS generative AI services, including Amazonian base And AWS HealthScribe.

Using HealthScribe, One Medical providers can capture real-time conversations during patient visits. AI-generated scores can then be reviewed, edited and approved by providers before being finalized. AI tools also streamline patient care by analyzing and summarizing external medical records, giving doctors quick access to critical information such as screening exams, test results, and current or past medications.
