Winnipeg plans outdoor water park in St. Boniface

The City of Winnipeg is studying the possibility of developing an outdoor water park in the Saint-Boniface neighborhood.

On Tuesday, the city announced it was seeking feedback on what that facility would look like and where it would go.

“I’m happy to see plans for a new outdoor water park in St. Boniface moving forward and we look forward to hearing from residents what features they would like to see,” Mayor Scott Gillingham said in a news release.

“As we look to replace aging facilities, we are focused on creating accessible and more dynamic facilities to better meet Winnipeg’s current and future recreational needs.

Residents can provide feedback via a online survey available until December 4 or by participating in an open house at the Champlain Community Center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 14.

Winnipeg hopes to have a cost estimate and preferred location for the water park later this winter.
